Job summary

Directions Group Inc. is seeking an Event Specialist to develop and execute events for luxury lifestyle brand clients across fashion, jewellery, beauty, hospitality, and corporate events.

You will handle research, planning and implementation, while cultivating enduring client and partner relationships. You will prepare proposals, pitches and presentations, manage budgets and timelines, coordinate vendors, and ensure smooth on-site execution with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Public Relations or Mass Communications.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Event management or Marketing Communications; agency or luxury lifestyle preferred.
• Existing network of contacts in customer database, design and production vendors advantageous.
• Driven self-starter with positive can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time-management; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail and good written/verbal communication.
• Team player, proactive, able to work independently.
• Some night and weekend work is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Photoshop and Illustrator advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hands-on set up and tear down.
• Maintain complete updated files with project/event details.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Working with a small team of dynamic individuals, the Specialist will develop and execute events for the agency’s luxury lifestyle brand clients across fashion, jewellery, beauty, hospitality, and corporate events.

The job scope will cover all relevant research, planning, and implementation work required to deliver and execute an event. In addition, he/she will also be responsible for maintaining and cultivating enduring relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of event proposals, pitches and presentations
• Monitor and manage the project, including the development of plans and budgets as well as scope and changes to budgets
• Manage communications, ensuring that any issues, changes, or required performances that impact projects are documented and addressed with the key team members
• Source, establish, develop and actively manage relationships with key vendors providing for the best available resources within budget and overall project success
• Responsible for ensuring that procurement of permits, licenses, and all other paperwork for events are managed by respective production personnel
• Composing and executing detailed checklists and program schedules
• Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, report on key accounts and deliver prompt and sound decisions
• Assisting in hands‑on set up and tear down
• Maintain complete and updated files with all project/event details and information
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Public Relations or Mass Communications
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Event management or Marketing Communications; prior experience in an agency setting and/or Luxury Lifestyle industry preferred
• An existing network of contacts in customer database, design and production vendors will be advantageous
• A drivenself-starter who is passionate about events and has a positive ‘can do’ and contributory attitude with excellent problem‑solving skills
