Job summary

Directions Group Inc. is seeking an Event Specialist to develop and execute events for luxury lifestyle brand clients across fashion, jewellery, beauty, hospitality, and corporate events.

You will handle research, planning and implementation, while cultivating enduring client and partner relationships. You will prepare proposals, pitches and presentations, manage budgets and timelines, coordinate vendors, and ensure smooth on-site execution with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Public Relations or Mass Communications.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Event management or Marketing Communications; agency or luxury lifestyle preferred.
• Existing network of contacts in customer database, design and production vendors advantageous.
• Driven self-starter with positive can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time-management; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail and good written/verbal communication.
• Team player, proactive, able to work independently.
• Some night and weekend work is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Photoshop and Illustrator advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of event proposals, pitches and presentations.
• Monitor and manage the project, including plans, budgets, scope and changes.
• Manage communications, document issues/changes with the team.
• Source and manage relationships with key vendors within budget.
• Procurement of permits, licenses, and paperwork by production personnel.
• Create and execute detailed checklists and program schedules.
• Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, report on accounts, make decisions.
• Assist in hands-on set up and tear down.
• Maintain complete updated files with project/event details.
• All other duties as assigned.
