Job summary

Directions Group Inc. is seeking an events specialist to develop and execute luxury lifestyle brand events in Singapore. You will handle research, planning, and implementation, while cultivating relationships with clients and partners.

The role requires strong project coordination, budgeting, and vendor management, with some night and weekend work. A diploma or degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of event/marketing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in business/marketing/public relations or mass communications.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in event management or marketing communications, agency or luxury lifestyle preferred.
• Existing network of contacts in customer database, design and production vendors advantageous.
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time-management and multi-tasking abilities in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of event proposals, pitches and presentations.
• Monitor and manage the project, including plans and budgets and any changes.
• Manage communications; document issues, changes or required performances with the team.
• Source, develop and manage relationships with key vendors within budget and project scope.
• Procurement of permits, licenses, and paperwork for events by production personnel.
• Create and follow detailed checklists and program schedules.
• Meet deadlines, report on key accounts and make timely decisions.
• Assist in hands-on setup and teardown.

Working with a small team of dynamic individuals, the Specialist will develop and execute events for the agency’s luxury lifestyle brand clients across fashion, jewellery, beauty, hospitality, and corporate events.

The job scope will cover all relevant research, planning, and implementation work required to deliver and execute an event. In addition, he/she will also be responsible for maintaining and cultivating enduring relationships with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of event proposals, pitches and presentations
• Monitor and manage the project, including the development of plans and budgets as well as scope and changes to budgets
• Manage communications, ensuring that any issues, changes, or required performances that impact projects are documented and addressed with the key team members
• Source, establish, develop and actively manage relationships with key vendors providing for the best available resources within budget and overall project success
• Responsible for ensuring that procurement of permits, licenses, and all other paperwork for events are managed by respective production personnel
• Composing and executing detailed checklists and program schedules
• Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, report on key accounts and deliver prompt and sound decisions
• Assisting in hands‑on set up and tear down
• Maintain complete and updated files with all project/event details and information
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Public Relations or Mass Communications
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Event management or Marketing Communications; prior experience in an agency setting and/or Luxury Lifestyle industry preferred
• An existing network of contacts in customer database, design and production vendors will be advantageous
• A drivenself‑starter who is passionate about events and has a positive ‘can do’ and contributory attitude with excellent problem‑solving skills
• Excellenttime‑management, ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment
• Meticulous withstrong attention to details
• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Some night and weekend work is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator would be advantageous.
