Job summary

COMBUILDER PTE LTD is seeking an Application Support Engineer to troubleshoot software applications, resolve production incidents, and maintain services within SLA. The role requires hands-on work with Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/PLSQL, APIs, and shell scripting.

You will work with end users and IT teams, provide bug fixes, and participate in monthly maintenance and patches. On-site shifts and quick learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 1 year of work experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/PLSQL, APIs RESTful and SOAP, and shell scripting.
• Proficient in database management (SQL Server, MySQL, MS Access) and OS (Linux, Windows Server).
• Excellent communication skills and strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Proven experience in application support and user query management (L1/L2).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a zero-defect mindset and fast learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide software application support, troubleshooting and bug fixing for maintained applications.
• Involve in implementation of application enhancements as needed.
• Communicate with end users and IT teams to understand production issues and propose solutions.
• Resolve incidents and recover services within SLA requirements.
• Coordinate with team and Service Delivery Manager to rectify issues.
• Document and track incidents with regular progress updates.
• Coordinate system maintenance and upgrades (monthly patches, hotfixes, deployments).
• Perform impact analysis and post-install verification for patches.
• Update project documentation per company QMS.

Job description

We are lookingfor an Application Support Engineer who are responsible to supportsoftware applications, troubleshoot the production issues reported by end users,and resolve the application incidents during agreed SLA time frame.

Hands-on experience in Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/ PLSQL, APIs (RESTful and SOAP)and shell scripting. Basic understanding of application and web server such as Apache Tomcat, WAMP and IBM Websphere, etc. would be required.

The engineer will be able to work independently with minimal supervising.

Must be able work in shifts to provide 24/7 support onsite.

Responsibilities

• Provide software application support, troubleshooting and bug fixing related to the maintained Software Applications.
• Involve in implementation of application enhancements as and when require.
• Communicate with end users, customer’s IT team and support engineers from other application vendors to understand the production issues and advise them the solution.
• Resolve the incidents and recover services within contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
• Work with other member(s) of the support team and Service Delivery Manager to rectify the production issues.
• Document and track incidents and provide regular progress updates.
• Coordinate regular system maintenance and upgrade activities such as monthly maintenance, patching, hotfix testing and deployments.
• Perform impact analysis and post-installation verification test on monthly OS patches/updates and Software patches deployments.
• Update project documentation in accordance to company QMS processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 1 year of working experience in software application development.
• Hands-on experience with Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/ PLSQL, APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and shell scripting.
• Proficient in database management (SQL Server, MySQL and Microsoft Access), operational systems (LINUX and Windows Server), Application Servers (Apache Tomcat, WAMP and WebSphere)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written) and strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Proven experience in application support and user query management (L1/L2).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to a zero-defect mindset.
• Must be team player with fast learning skill.
