Job summary

Elliott Moss Consulting PTE. LTD. is seeking a versatile professional for functional and technical support across modern web apps.

You will translate business needs, analyze applications, and validate enhancements, while partnering with business users and technical teams to resolve issues and improve processes. The role involves supporting web applications with React/TypeScript and Java, plus cultivating SQL reports, batch processes, and legacy COBOL/JCL systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in application development, application support, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Java and SQL.
• Experience with React and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of COBOL and JCL is required.
• Experience with VSAM and sequential files will be an advantage.
• Experience in batch processing and troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
• Analyze existing applications and recommend enhancements to improve system functionality and business processes.
• Perform data analysis, testing, and validation to ensure system enhancements meet business requirements.
• Work closely with project leads, business users, and technical teams to resolve issues and improve application functionality.
• Support the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of web applications using React, TypeScript, and Java.
• Provide post-implementation and BAU application support.
• Monitor and troubleshoot batch processing jobs to ensure scheduled processing runs successfully.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for reporting, data analysis, and application support.
• Maintain and support legacy applications using COBOL and JCL, including systems involving VSAM and sequential file structures.
• Investigate application performance issues and recommend appropriate technical improvements.
• Provide technical support to project leads and business users and assist in resolving application-related issues.
• Troubleshoot issues across frontend applications, backend services, databases, and batch processing.
• Investigate frontend UI/UX issues and work with relevant teams to improve application usability and performance.
• Analyze recurring operational issues and recommend solutions to improve system stability and efficiency.
• Support system enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with business users, project leads, developers, and other technical teams to deliver application enhancements.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in cross-functional activities to ensure smooth implementation and support of application solutions.
