Job summary

STEEL GLO ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Structural Steel Supervisor to lead fabrication, installation, and erection on project sites, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while managing teams and subcontractors.

You will interpret drawings, coordinate with Project Managers and QA/QC, conduct toolbox talks, enforce WSH requirements, and optimize materials flow to minimize waste, with a strong emphasis on leadership and English communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certs in civil/structural/mechanical or marine offshore engineering.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in structural steel installation, fabrication, or shipyard/construction in Singapore.
• Proficiency in reading complex structural and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of welding procedures, non-shrink grouting, and heavy lifting operations.
• Strong leadership and English communication; collaborative problem-solving.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily structural steel activities on-site, including lifting beams, columns, and trusses, ensuring correct alignment and safe work-at-height practices.
• Lead and manage subcontractors and site workers by delegating tasks, setting daily progress targets, and monitoring material usage.
• Interpret structural drawings and fabrication designs to coordinate with Project Managers, Structural Engineers, and QA/QC teams for resolving site clashes and technical issues.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to enforce compliance with WSH Act, managing permits-to-work, lifting plans, and fall-protection measures.
• Monitor project progress through look-ahead planning, control inventory to minimize material wastage, and coordinate timely material deliveries with logistics.
• Oversee quality assurance by supervising grouting of load-bearing plates, structural repairs, and maintaining inspection records for client and surveyor approvals.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Supervisor to lead fabrication, installation, and erection activities on Singapore project sites, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with regulations while managing teams and subcontractors effectively.

• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to enforce compliance with Singapore's Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Act, managing permits-to-work, lifting plans, and fall-protection measures
• Monitor project progress through look-ahead planning, control inventory to minimize material wastage, and coordinate timely material deliveries with logistics
• Oversee quality assurance by supervising grouting of load-bearing plates, structural repairs, and maintaining inspection records for client and surveyor approvals

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• BCA CoreTrade certification (Structural Steel Works)
• Supervise Work in Process Sector / Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS)
• Managing Work At Heights (MWAH) / Lifting Supervisor certificate
• Diploma in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Marine Offshore Engineering, or equivalent technical certification
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in structural steel installation, fabrication, or shipyard/construction operations in Singapore
• Proficiency in reading complex structural and fabrication drawings
• Knowledge of welding procedures, non-shrink grouting, and heavy lifting operations
• Strong leadership, effective English communication skills, and collaborative problem-solving approach
• Physical fitness to work outdoors, at heights, and willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
