Job summary

LIAN HUAH ENGINEERING PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Site Engineer (Electrical) to join its project team. The role focuses on coordinating day-to-day electrical installations on site and ensuring project delivery to specification.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience, a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work at project sites with English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have electrical engineering qualification at least NTC/Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical installation, building services or construction projects in Singapore.
• Candidates with turnkey electrical installation or A&A experience are advantageous.
• Able to read electrical drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; able to coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and site personnel.

Site Engineer (Electrical)

Lian Huah Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a motivated and experienced Site Engineer (Electrical) to join our project team.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the day-to-day execution of assigned electrical projects and ensure successful project delivery.
• Supervise and coordinate site activities, workers and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedule and quality requirements.
• Monitor project progress and coordinate with the project team to achieve timely completion of works.
• Liaise and coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on technical and site matters.
• Attend site meetings, technical discussions and progress meetings and follow up on outstanding technical and site issues.
• Review and coordinate electrical shop drawings, material submissions, technical submissions and other project documentation.
• Provide technical support to the project team and assist in the selection and coordination of electrical equipment and materials.
• Assist the Project Manager in project planning, cost control, procurement, progress monitoring and preparation of monthly progress claims.
• Monitor site productivity, manpower and material requirements and assist in implementing measures to improve project efficiency and profitability.
• Coordinate and lead testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems and equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of testing and commissioning documentation, operation manuals and as-built information.
• Conduct or coordinate system training and handover activities for clients upon project completion.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Safety personnel to ensure compliance with project safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Identify site issues, technical constraints and potential delays, and assist in implementing appropriate solutions.
• Support the company in tender preparation, technical proposals and business development activities when required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum NTC / Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent electrical engineering qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical installation, building services or construction projects in Singapore.
• Candidates with experience in turnkey electrical installation, A&A (Addition & Alteration) works, commercial, industrial or building projects will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of electrical installation practices, drawings, specifications and site coordination.
• Experience in project coordination, site supervision, testing and commissioning will be an advantage.
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site personnel.
• Good leadership skills, initiative and ability to resolve site issues in a practical manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management / engineering software.
• Good command of English , both written and spoken, for communication with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Mandarin language skills will be an advantage where required for communication with relevant project stakeholders.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a project team.
• Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• This is a site-based position and the successful candidate is required to be stationed at project sites during working hours.
