Job summary

Smitech Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee site execution, technical submittals and trade coordination for M&E construction projects in Singapore. This hands-on role targets a seasoned site practitioner who manages subcontractors and ensures compliance with Singapore codes and authority regulations.

You will review SLDs and shop drawings, drive site QA, and coordinate with main contractors, consultants, and internal BIM teams to resolve cross-trade

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on site experience in M&E construction or building services in Singapore.
• Proven track record executing LTA infrastructure or transit projects in Singapore.
• Strong experience supervising site installations and coordinating sub-contractors.
• Solid knowledge of Singapore Electrical Codes (SS638/CP5, SS555, SS531), EMA regulations, and LTA A&BWS/M&W specs.
• Proficient in reading SLDs and electrical schematics; proficient in AutoCAD; BIM coordination a plus.
• EMA LEW license Grade 7/8 or bizSAFE/WSH certs are a strong plus.
• Strong site leadership, analytical troubleshooting and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Site Execution & Supervision: lead daily installation, testing, commissioning of electrical building services (LV distribution, power, lighting, switchboards, generators, UPS, ELV).
• Technical Review & Shop Drawings: review SLDs, submittals, material specs; oversee shop drawing submissions and coordination drawings.
• Progress & Quality Control: track site progress against baselines; enforce workmanship standards; resolve technical site issues; drive QA.
• Trade & Stakeholder Coordination: represent Smitech in meetings with main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, LTA/PUB officers; resolve cross-trade clashes.
• Authority Compliance & Handover: ensure compliance with EMA, SS638/CP5, SS555, BCA, WSH; support LEW testing, authority inspections, handover.
• Procurement & Commercial Support: assist QS with material take-offs, subcontractor claims verification, and variation orders (VOs).

About the Role

Smitech Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced, hands-on Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to over see site execution, technical submittals, and trade coordination for our M&E construction projects in Singapore.

This role is tailored for a seasoned site practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing sub-contractors, and possesses strong practical knowledge of Singapore electrical codes, authority regulations, and hands-on project experience with LTA (Land Transport Authority) or PUB (Public Utilities Board) infrastructure frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Execution & Supervision: Lead and supervise daily site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical building services (LV distribution, power, lighting, switchboards, generators, UPS, and ELV systems).

• Technical Review & Shop Drawings: Review single-line diagrams (SLDs), technical submittals, and material specifications. Oversee the preparation, submission, and clearance of shop drawings and site coordination drawings.

• Progress & Quality Control: Track site execution against project baselines, enforce high standards of site workmanship, resolve technical site issues, and drive quality assurance.

• Trade & Stakeholder Coordination: Represent Smitech in site coordination meetings with Main Contractors, Consultants, Subcontractors, LTA/PUB officers, and internal Mechanical/BIM teams to resolve cross-trade interface clashes.

• Authority Compliance & Handover: Ensure all electrical installations strictly comply with EMA regulations, SS638 (CP5), SS555, BCA regulations, WSH safety guidelines, and relevant LTA A&BWS / PUB M&E standard specifications. Support LEW testing, authority inspections, and formal project handover.

• Procurement & Commercial Support: Assist Quantity Surveyors with material take-offs, site progress verification for subcontractor claims, and technical assessment of variation orders (VOs).

About you

• Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline

• Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on site experience in M&E construction or building services projects in Singapore

• Proven track record in executing LTA (Land Transport Authority) infrastructure or transit-related projects in Singapore

• Strong experience in supervising site installations, coordinating sub-contractors, and managing trade interfaces

• Solid working knowledge of Singapore Electrical Codes (SS638 / CP5, SS555, SS531), EMA regulations, and LTA Architectural & Building Works Specifications (A&BWS) / Materials & Workmanship (M&W) specifications

• Proficient in reading Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and shop drawings

• Proficient in AutoCAD; basic familiarity with Revit MEP or BIM coordination is an advantage

• Registered EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) Technician/Grade 7 or 8, or bizSAFE / WSH certifications will be a strong plus

• Strong site leadership, analytical troubleshooting, independent problem-solving, and clear communication skills
