Job summary

MICHAEL PAGE INTERNATIONAL PTE LTD is seeking a capable transport operations leader to manage Singapore's transport function, driving service quality, cost efficiency, and productivity.

You will oversee fleet planning, route optimisation, carrier management, and continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with customers and internal teams to deliver scalable transport solutions and strong profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in transport, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of the Singapore transport and logistics market.
• Experience managing transport operations involving owned and outsourced resources.
• Proven people leadership, including leading managers or teams.
• Experience managing budgets, transport costs and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

Lead and manage Singapore transport operations to achieve service, quality, cost, and productivity targets.

Oversee fleet planning, route optimisation, transport execution, and carrier management activities.

Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day transport operations while maintaining high customer service standards.

Manage transport partners and vendors to ensure operational performance and compliance.

Drive operational improvements through process optimisation and best-practice initiatives.

Commercial & Customer Management

Partner closely with customers to understand operational requirements and deliver effective transport solutions.

Support solution design, operational costing, and implementation of new business opportunities.

Participate in customer reviews and business discussions to ensure service excellence and long-term partnerships.

Work closely with internal commercial teams to support growth initiatives and operational readiness.

Maintain a strong focus on profitability and cost management.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency, service levels, and operating costs.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, operational excellence, and performance management methodologies.

Support transport technology adoption, including Transport Management Systems (TMS) and control tower capabilities.

Lead operational projects and business improvement initiatives from planning through implementation.

People Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of transport professionals.

Build a high-performing and engaged team culture.

Manage performance, succession planning, and capability development within the function.

Foster strong collaboration across operations, commercial, and customer-facing teams.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements

Essential

Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

At least 8 years of experience in transport, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.

Strong understanding of the Singapore transport and logistics market.

Experience managing transport operations involving both owned and outsourced transport resources.

Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading managers, supervisors, or operational teams.

Experience managing operational budgets, transport costs, and performance metrics.

Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

Experience within a 3PL, logistics service provider, transportation, or distribution environment.

Exposure to transport solution design, costing, and implementation activities.

Experience supporting customer engagements and operational business development initiatives.

Knowledge of TMS, network optimisation, and transport planning tools.

Exposure to Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies.
