Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to support the hyperscale data center fleet. You will deploy OS images at scale, design scalable provisioning platforms, and develop backend components for the provisioning system.

You will enable hardware and drive automation for efficient, secure operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex issues, improving CI/CD, validating server hardware, benchmarking GPU and CPU performance, and implementing AI-assisted log

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, server operations, system engineering, or hardware validation.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and operational models.
• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and server hardware architecture (CPU, memory, storage, RAID, NIC).
• Solid understanding of PXE-based automated provisioning workflows and DHCP/TFTP/HTTP protocols.
• Hands-on experience with out-of-band management (IPMI, Redfish) and BIOS/UEFI boot architectures.
• Strong programming/automation skills in Golang, Python, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and Linux system administration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and deploy OS images across large-scale IDC environments.
• Design and evolve provisioning platform architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Develop core backend components of the provisioning system and assist hardware enablement.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues across the server delivery lifecycle; explore AI/LLM-driven analysis and self-healing approaches.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and strengthen security, recovery, and disaster readiness.
• Coordinate hardware validation activities to ensure delivery quality and compliance.
• Lead performance testing and optimize CPUs, memory, storage, and GPUs; run benchmarking.
• Develop automated benchmarking and stress-testing frameworks for efficiency.
• Perform quality analytics on large-scale server shipments and drive continuous improvements.
