Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE engineer to design, build, and operate our hyperscale datacenter infrastructure. You will develop automation and monitoring to optimize global services, and manage cloud images across environments with strict compliance.

You’ll participate in on‑call rotations addressing incidents and work to improve the full infrastructure lifecycle. The role requires 2+ years in Linux operations/SRE/DevOps, strong CS fundamentals, and experience with public cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Linux operations, SRE, or DevOps.
• Proficient in Go, Python, or C++ with strong automation skills.
• Strong CS fundamentals including Linux, networks, storage, GPUs, and databases.
• Familiar with monitoring, alerting, capacity and change management, and incident response.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure across clouds.
• Develop tools, automation, visualizations, and monitoring to optimize infrastructure.
• Create and manage cloud AMIs/images for multiple environments with compliance alignment.
• Engage in on‑call rotations addressing incidents related to cloud, OS, network, and performance.
• Drive improvements across the infrastructure lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
