Job summary

PeopleSearch is seeking an experienced systems engineering leader to drive delivery of large-scale, software-intensive systems across the full lifecycle in a demanding, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will mentor and grow engineering teams, align architecture with business goals, manage risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes while promoting best practices in DevOps, V&V, and configuration management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems engineering, integration engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of direct people management (leading, mentoring, and growing teams).
• Experience in safety-critical environments across Aerospace, Defense, Transportation, etc.
• Proficient in Linux/Windows, distributed systems, and modern software delivery practices.

We are seeking an experienced systems engineering leader with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex, large-scale solutions across the full systems engineering lifecycle. Strong technical foundation, people leadership capabilities, and experience driving successful outcomes in complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience, including leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
• Relevant experience within safety-critical system environment – open to industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Transportation, Telecommunications, Critical Infrastructure, Industrial Automation, or similar complex engineering environments.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale systems through the full end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and solution architecture through integration, testing, deployment, and operational handover.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments, distributed systems, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Preferred

• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across systems, software, test, and integration engineering functions.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, cloud technologies, and virtualization platforms.
• Exposure to regulated, safety-critical, or high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks, verification and validation methodologies, and configuration management practices.
