Job summary

PeopleSearch Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced systems engineering leader to guide a multi-disciplinary team through the full lifecycle of large-scale, software-intensive systems in Singapore. You will shape architecture, drive delivery, and foster a high-performance culture.

You will mentor engineers, manage risks, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet stringent safety and operational requirements while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience, including leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
• Experience in safety-critical environments across aerospace, defense, transportation, telecom, or similar complex engineering domains.
• Proven track record delivering complex, large-scale systems through full lifecycle (requirements to handover).

Job description

We are seeking an experienced systems engineering leader with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex, large-scale solutions across the full systems engineering lifecycle. Strong technical foundation, people leadership capabilities, and experience driving successful outcomes in complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
• Provide technical and people leadership across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture, design, development, integration, verification, validation, deployment, and operational support.
• Drive project execution, resource planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery of complex, software-intensive systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet business, operational, and customer requirements.
• Establish and promote systems engineering best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage team performance, career development, coaching, and succession planning.
• Ensure effective management of technical risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience, including leading, mentoring, and growing engineering teams.
• Relevant experience within safety-critical system environment - open to industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Transportation, Telecommunications, Critical Infrastructure, Industrial Automation, or similar complex engineering environments.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale systems through the full end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and solution architecture through integration, testing, deployment, and operational handover.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments, distributed systems, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Preferred

• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across systems, software, test, and integration engineering functions.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, cloud technologies, and virtualization platforms.
• Exposure to regulated, safety-critical, or high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks, verification and validation methodologies, and configuration management practices.
