Job summary

APBA TG HUMAN RESOURCE PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a seasoned Head of Software Engineering to lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization.

You will coach software managers, architects, and engineers, drive delivery leadership across projects, and shape the technical roadmap aligned with the division's strategy. You will establish SDLC standards, DevSecOps pipelines, and quality gates, manage capacity and recruitment, and mentor teams through career progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary software teams.
• Strong track record delivering complex, mission-critical systems.
• Experience managing multiple projects and offshore teams.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines, reviews, and quality controls.
• Strong modern software architecture and development practices.
• Able to inspire, coach, and retain engineering talent.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing software engineering organisation


• Coach and mentor software managers, architects, technical leads, developers, DevOps engineers, and platform engineers


• Manage performance, competency development, career progression, training, and succession planning


• Identify capability gaps and implement appropriate recruitment and workforce-development plans


• Plan and manage software capacity and capabilities to support projects, solution development, presales, maintenance, and system enhancements


• Forecast resource demand and allocate personnel across projects and business priorities


• Establish and maintain a structured software development lifecycle covering requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance


• Define and implement engineering standards, technical reviews, documentation requirements, and quality gates


• Provide technical and delivery leadership to project software teams throughout the project lifecycle


• Develop a software technology and engineering roadmap aligned with the Division's business and solution strategy

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline


• Typically 15 or more years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years in a senior software engineering, technology management, or delivery leadership role


• Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary software teams


• Strong experience managing the full software development lifecycle for complex, integrated, and mission-critical systems


• Experience managing multiple projects, competing resource priorities, and geographically distributed or offshore teams


• Experience establishing software engineering standards, DevSecOps pipelines, technical reviews, and quality controls


• Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, engineering practices, and development methodologies


• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release management


• Strong people leader who can inspire, coach, develop, and retain engineering talent


• Demonstrates sound technical judgement and credibility with senior engineering professionals
