Job summary

DSTA in Singapore seeks driven individuals to apply System Engineering methods to ensure capabilities across diverse technology domains for national security are reliable, safe and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.

You will review designs of platforms and combat systems in RAM, LSA, Systems Safety, LCM, and QA; develop models to assess availability; and implement new system safety methods for AI and autonomous systems to harness their capabilities safely.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Systems Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in System Engineering is advantageous.
• Willing to travel for overseas work trips.
• Able to tackle open-ended, complex problems with analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop methodologies for cutting-edge engineering and digital domains.
• Provide expert support to project teams in RAM, LSA, Systems Safety, LCM, and QA.

Job description

We seek driven individuals to join DSTA, where you will employ System Engineering methodologies to ensure that the capabilities that we deliver across diverse technology domains for national security are reliable, safe and cost-effective throughout its lifecycle.

Examples Include

• Review designs of diverse platforms and combat systems (e.g., Air, Land and Naval) in key System Engineering domains such as Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Systems Safety, Life Cycle Management (LCM), and Quality Assurance (QA).
• Develop new models and tools to allow project teams to better assess and develop measures to sustain the availabilities of platforms and combat systems for missions.
• Develop and implement new system safety methods and processes for new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and autonomous systems to harness their capabilities effectively and safely.

SCOPE OF WORK

• Develop methodologies that contribute to the creation and refinement of cutting-edge methodologies and best practices that address emerging opportunities and challenges in engineering and digital domains.
• Provide expert support to project teams in key System Engineering areas such as RAM, LSA, Systems Safety, LCM, and QA.
• Facilitate the implementation of both established and new System Engineering methodologies, extracting valuable insights that will inform future enhancements and the evolution of our Systems Engineering practices.
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Systems Engineering is advantageous.
• A keen interest and ability to tackle open-ended, complex problems.
• Proactive, self -driven individual with excellent analytical skills to navigate and solve multifaceted engineering challenges.
