Job description

ABOUT SIOUX

Sioux is a strategic high-tech solutions provider that develops, innovates and assembles complex high-tech systems We have a team of over 1,400 dedicated engineers who either support our clients or serve as their Research and Development department. Our strong productivity allows us to speed up product development, giving our clients a competitive edge at a better cost-effectiveness. As a rapidly growing employer, Sioux values its employees' growth and well-being. We invest in their career development and foster a positive work environment that promotes personal and professional growth.

SIOUX IN SINGAPORE

Sioux Singapore plays a pivotal role in the Asian market by offering R&D services from our centers across Europe and Asia to customers, leading development teams in Asia, from Singapore This expansion allows us to meet the changing needs of our domestic and international (OEM) customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical industries.

About the role

We build software at the intersection of precision hardware and high-stakes production — control systems for semiconductor equipment, data analytics platforms that help fabs improve yield and process stability. Our clients include leading international OEMs and China's most ambitious domestic wafer manufacturers.

As a Senior Software Tech Lead, you will own both technical execution and practical project delivery for the team. You are expected to understand the software architecture, guide implementation decisions, support the development team technically, and also take responsibility for planning, progress tracking, risk follow-up, scope coordination, and client-facing communication. You will work closely with Software Architects, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure that complex semiconductor software projects are delivered with technical quality, realistic commitments, and clear alignment.

What you'll do

Technical leadership and delivery

  • Translate software requirements into clear technical tasks, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and delivery plans.
  • Guide software design and implementation decisions, ensuring alignment with the overall architecture, maintainability, integration requirements, and project priorities.
  • Mentor developers, review technical approaches, resolve complex issues, and remove engineering blockers.
  • Lead technical planning, progress tracking, milestone follow-up, dependency management, and risk escalation.
  • Monitor delivery commitments and adjust priorities when requirements, risks, or dependencies change.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, including design notes, decision logs, interface specifications, assumptions, and action items.
  • Promote strong engineering practices, including code quality, testing, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
External — technical communication, scope coordination, and stakeholder alignment
  • Client and stakeholder collaboration
  • Act as the technical counterpart for international OEM clients and domestic fab customers across Asia.
  • Lead requirement clarification, integration discussions, technical reviews, and issue-resolution sessions.
  • Communicate technical constraints, design trade-offs, delivery risks, and implementation progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding scope, feasibility, schedules, priorities, and the impact of changes.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects during pre-sales and project ramp-up to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and deliverable.
  • Coordinate effectively with multi-site development teams and ensure that decisions and follow-up actions are clearly documented.
Job requirements
Required
  • 5+ years of software development experience, including experience leading technical delivery or guiding a small engineering team
  • Solid software programming background, with the ability to read, discuss, and challenge software designs and implementation approaches
  • Experience with software architecture, debugging, integration, code review, and technical decision-making in complex software systems
  • Ability to understand technical details deeply enough to guide developers, identify risks, explain trade-offs, and align engineering work with delivery commitments
  • Ability to manage practical project delivery activities such as planning, progress tracking, milestone follow-up, risk management, dependency coordination, and clear stakeholder communication
  • Eligible to work in Singapore
Preferred
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing concepts, including process flows, equipment types, and industry standards such as SECS/GEM and GEM300
  • Experience with equipment control software, factory host communication, motion control, machine vision, SCADA/MES integration, or other industrial automation software domains
  • Hands‑on experience with programming languages commonly used in industrial or equipment software environments, such as C++, C#, Java, Python, or similar technologies
  • Experience coordinating across multi‑site engineering teams in Asia, including Singapore, Vietnam, and China
  • Scrum Master certification, PMP, or equivalent delivery/project management experience is a plus, but not a substitute for software technical leadership capability
What this role is not

This is not a pure project management role and not a pure coding role. The successful candidate must combine software technical leadership with practical project ownership. They should be comfortable discussing software design, implementation trade‑offs, integration risks, technical dependencies, schedules, scope, priorities, and delivery commitments with engineers, architects, and clients. You do not need to be the sole architect, but you must be strong enough technically to guide execution and disciplined enough to drive follow‑up, coordination, and delivery closure.

Why this role

Technical leadership in a demanding semiconductor software domain requires both engineering depth and delivery awareness. The problems are complex, the clients are sophisticated, and the margin for misunderstanding is low. You will stay close to the software, guide the team through technical decisions, develop genuine domain knowledge, and have visible influence over what ships — and how well it works.

We welcome candidates from industrial automation, scientific instrumentation, or other precision‑engineering software domains — deep semiconductor experience is not a prerequisite.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER
