Job summary

McKinsey & Company, through QuantumBlack, seeks a Senior Software Engineer II to lead technical direction for AI-enabled, production-grade software. You will design complex systems, drive API ecosystems (REST/GraphQL), and ensure scalable, secure delivery while mentoring engineers and aligning with client goals.

Based in Singapore, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and industry experts, contribute to cross-functional teams, and help advance AI adoption across industries,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience developing full-stack applications with frontend and backend frameworks.
• Proficiency across frontend and backend frameworks such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Next.js, Vue.js, Java, Spring, C#, or Node.js.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Docker, CircleCI, or similar).
• Ability to design APIs (REST/GraphQL) with scalable, maintainable architectures.
• Experience leading cloud migrations and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex software systems and API ecosystems (REST/GraphQL).
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards for teams.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Deliver production-ready AI-enabled software and ensure security and quality.
