Job summary

Grab in Singapore seeks a senior technical leader and individual contributor to transform how we engineer with AI, raise the architectural bar for large-scale distributed systems, and create common platforms that empower teams with greater autonomy.

You will architect for massive scale, drive AI-enabled engineering transformation across the CXI ecosystem, and build reusable platform primitives that accelerate delivery across mobility, food delivery, e-commerce, and financial services.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering and system design.
• 5+ years in principal engineer or architect roles.
• Experience driving AI-enabled engineering transformation (agentic workflows, context/knowledge systems, automated testing).
• Architecting and scaling large distributed systems with high reliability and availability.
• Leading cross-team architectural initiatives and influencing senior engineers without direct reporting authority.

Responsibilities

• Transform the Software Development Lifecycle with AI and embed AI-native practices across requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Architect high-throughput, highly available distributed systems powering core consumer and integrity experiences.
• Build common platform primitives and patterns across Grab ecosystem to enable teams while balancing domain-specific needs.
• Enable autonomous teams while maintaining architectural coherence through reference architectures, guardrails, and reusable patterns.
