Job summary

Seoulstart seeks an senior engineering leader to guide a production-scale software team in Singapore. You will lead and coach engineers, partner across Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Operations to align priorities and roadmaps, and own the engineering roadmap with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

You will shape technical direction with senior engineers, drive architecture trade-offs, and ensure robust CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Eight years of software engineering experience designing and operating production systems at scale.
• Two years of experience managing and developing software engineers.
• Hands-on LLM and generative AI experience with model evaluation, prompt design, RAG, monitoring.
• Understanding of AI risks: hallucinations, data privacy, security, reliability, latency, cost.
• Strong backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure foundation.
• Ability to deliver complex initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Experience coaching engineers, managing performance, and supporting career development.
• Sound judgment balancing product delivery, engineering quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Strong written and verbal communication, explaining technical and AI trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach engineers with clear expectations and individual growth plans.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Operations on priorities, roadmaps, outcomes.
• Own planning and delivery of engineering roadmap, managing dependencies and risks.
• Establish technical direction with senior engineers, guide architecture and engineering trade-offs.
• Improve reliability, scalability, security, observability, and cost efficiency of owned systems.
• Establish engineering practices for design reviews, testing, deployment, incident response, and CI.
• Create inclusive environment with clarity, psychological safety, and meaningful team ownership.
• Attract, assess, retain strong talent; contribute to hiring and talent development.
• Communicate progress, risks, and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
