Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is hiring for Staff/Principal Software Engineers to help transform government digital services. You will advise agencies from problem definition through solution design, tackling greenfield and brownfield projects, and partner with GovTech and industry teams to deliver lasting modernization.

You will establish permanent engineering teams, champion engineering standards, and mentor the next generation of technical leaders while shaping GovTech's technical direction across

Qualifications

• 10+ years in multi-squad development teams with a progression to Architect.
• Adaptable with experience in in-house development, consultancy and public sector.
• Curious problem-solver who balances building right with building right things.
• Actively mentors and cultivates future technical leaders.
• Exceptional communicator able to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Advise government agencies from problem definition through to solution design.
• Address high-impact challenges at national scale and drive modernization.
• Champion engineering standards and best practices across GovTech and government.
• Serve as lead architect with GovTech and industry partners to ensure smooth handover.
• Establish and mentor permanent engineering teams within agencies.
• Develop standardized approaches for assessments, discovery, and design.
