Job summary

Rakuten Asia Pte Ltd seeks an Senior Site Reliability (DevOps) Engineer to drive reliable, scalable systems across Rakuten’s global ecosystem. You will lead SRE practice, design SLO/SLI programs, and champion incident management, chaos engineering, and production readiness.

Based in Singapore, you will partner with marketing platform teams to ensure high availability and rapid deployment. Strong cloud, container, and observability expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering/DevOps/SRE experience.
• Led SRE or platform engineering teams across time zones.
• Cloud platforms experience (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable).
• Hands-on with observability and SRE practices; defining SLOs/SLIs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive SRE strategy with SLO/SLI frameworks and reliability targets.
• Improve incident management: on-call rotations, escalations, blameless post-mortems.
• Collaborate with development to embed reliability in software lifecycle.
• Design and implement observability (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting).
• Drive automation to reduce toil and improve deployment reliability.
• Partner with Architecture and Platform teams for scalable, cost-optimized infra.
• Manage capacity planning for high-volume marketing platforms.
• Report reliability metrics and trends to leadership.
