Job summary

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE MULTIPURPOSE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LIMITED's University Souvenir Shop in Kent Ridge is hiring a Senior Retail Assistant & Retail Assistant to deliver excellent customer service and support daily store operations.

You will handle sales transactions, upsell products, maintain displays, and assist with stock taking, events, and promotions while working 42 hours per week, including weekends and peak periods.

Qualifications

• GCE N/ O Level, Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Friendly, approachable and service-oriented personality.
• Good communication skills; able to handle cash transactions.

We are looking forenthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to join our team at the NUSUniversity souvenir Shop. You will play an important role in creating awelcoming shopping experience for NUS students, staff, alumni, visitors andtourists, while supporting the day-to-day operations of our retail store.

Job Purpose

To deliver excellentcustomer service while supporting sales and daily retail operations.

KeyResponsibilities

1. Customer Service

• Provide friendly, proactive and professional service to all customers
• Engage customers and recommend suitable products based on their needs
• Develop basic knowledge of product offerings
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally

2. Sales Support

• Assist in achieving store sales targets
• Promote ongoing promotions, new arrivals and featured products
• Recommend complementary products and encourage upselling where appropriate

3. Store Operations

• Operate the POS system accurately, including sales transactions, refunds and exchanges
• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming store environment
• Replenish stocks and ensure products are properly displayed and merchandised
• Assist with stocktaking and inventory control

4. Visual Merchandising

• Maintain neat, attractive and appealing product displays in accordance with guidelines
• Assist with setting up promotional displays and seasonal campaigns
• Support the refresh and improvement of store displays to enhance the customer shopping experience

5. Team Support

• Work closely with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations
• Support events, promotional activities and other retail initiatives when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

WorkingHours

• 42 hours per week
• Store operates

Monday to Friday,9.00am to 6.00pm

Saturday,10 am to 2 pm

• Alternate Saturdays off

Requirements

• GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ Level, Diploma or equivalent
• Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
• Friendly, approachable and service-oriented personality
• Good communication skills; English and Mandarin required
• Basic numeracy skills and confidence in handling cash transactions
• Able to work retail hours, including weekends and peak periods
• Responsible, reliable and a good team player
