Job summary

CPG Corporation Pte Ltd is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to lead multi-disciplinary project teams, ensure design integrity, and manage on-site execution. You will coordinate across consultants, contractors, and developers to safeguard master schedules and quality.

The role emphasizes robust planning, risk management, and proactive communications with clients and authorities to deliver complex building projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction, project management and/or planning.
  • Experience managing large-scale and complex building projects.
  • Professional accreditation or certification is an advantage.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.

Job description

A. Project Leadership & Team Management (Primary)
  • Lead Project Team: Direct and coordinate daily site activities among consultants, contractors, developers, and specialist vendors to ensure seamless on-site execution and adherence to master schedule.

  • Lead, plan, and develop the project-specific Contract Management Plan, establishing clear protocols for claims, variations, and correspondence.

  • Chair project and site meetings, facilitating clear communication between the design team (Architect, M&E, Structural) and the Contractor’s execution team to resolve issues swiftly.

B. Construction Management & Design Integrity (Primary Focus)
  • Ensure the Contractor’s works strictly adhere to the Architect’s Design Compliance specifications, shop drawings, and BIM models. Act as the "Quality Guardian" by supervising site works to achieve superior quality standards.

  • Identify and resolve site technical problems immediately, coordinating with the design consultants to create practical solutions that maintain aesthetic and structural vision.

  • Review Method Statements and material submissions; exercise the authority to issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and halt works that do not meet the required standards.

C. Planning & Schedule Governance (Supporting Focus)
  • Programme Evaluation: Critically evaluate the Contractor’s master programme and monitor work progress against the critical path. Identify potential or actual causes of delay and implement preventive or remedial actions.

  • Claims Vetting: Support contracts team by reviewing Extension of Time (EOT) claims and schedule recovery plans, ensuring the Client is protected from invalid time or cost claims.

  • Lead, plan, and manage the information flow between consultants and contractors, ensuring timely release of approved drawings to prevent design-related bottlenecks.

D. Commercial & Financial Control
  • Cost & Claims Management: Prepare cost estimates and diligently monitor progress claims, interim certificates, and payment responses to ensure financial accuracy.

  • Contract Award: Assist in documentation and provide strategic recommendations to the Client for the award of contracts and procurement packages.

E. Risk, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage project risks (technical, financial, and scheduling), implementing proactive mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project progression.

  • Monitor relevant authorities’ submissions and clearances to ensure statutory compliance.

  • Conduct periodic safety inspections on-site, reinforcing the culture of Zero Accidents.

  • Assist in investigating and liaising with the public and relevant authorities regarding feedback, complaints, or external interface issues affecting the site.

F. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare and present periodic progress reports to senior management and the Client, highlighting key milestones, quality metrics, design deviations, and schedule health.

  • Verify final as-built documentation and oversee smooth handover of project.

Gatekeeper to reject workmanship, materials, and schedule submissions that do not meet the project’s contract specifications or design intent.

Directs the Contractor’s quality and safety performance through site instructions and reports; Guide on what is acceptable to the Client.

Any ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in construction, project management and/or planning, preferably with experience managing large-scale and complex building projects.

  • Candidates in construction, project management and/or planning, preferably with experience managing large-scale and complex building projects will be preferred.

  • Relevant professional accreditation or certification will be an advantage.

  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams (consultants, contractors, and developers).

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for stakeholder coordination and client liaison.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
