Job summary

Dyson Singapore is seeking a Senior Power Systems & Drives Engineer to lead the development of advanced power electronics platforms powering our next-generation products. You will design motor drives, heater drives, APFC solutions and high‑efficiency power converters, collaborating with hardware, firmware, controls, mechanical, and quality teams from concept to production.

You will evaluate and select power semiconductor technologies, perform circuit simulations, validate designs, drive design

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
Minimum 8 years of industry experience in power electronics hardware design and development.
Motor drive hardware design (BLDC, PMSM, or similar motor technologies).
Heater drive and power control systems.
APFC power supply design.
AC-DC and DC-DC converter design.
High-power and high-efficiency power electronics systems.
Product development from concept through production.

Responsibilities

Design and develop motor drive hardware for high-performance electromechanical systems.
Develop heater drive hardware and power control solutions.
Design APFC circuits and power conversion systems to meet efficiency, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Architect AC-DC and DC-DC power electronics solutions for next-generation products.
Select and evaluate power semiconductor technologies including MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN devices.
Develop robust power stage, gate driver, sensing, protection, and thermal management designs.
Perform circuit simulations, hardware validation, and design optimisation.
Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues.
Drive design reviews and ensure hardware quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets are achieved.
Contribute to platform-level power architecture and technology roadmaps.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends in power electronics.
Influence technical decisions and architectural direction across multiple product programmes.
Partner closely with firmware, controls, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Support product development from concept through production launch and sustaining activities.
Work with suppliers and external partners to qualify components and technologies.
Provide technical leadership and coaching to other engineers.
Establish engineering best practices, design standards, and lessons learned.
Champion a culture of innovation, engineering rigour, and continuous improvement.
