Job summary

BARRINGTON JAMES LIMITED SINGAPORE BRANCH is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to lead maintenance and operations for large-scale chilled water plants and HVAC systems in Singapore. The role focuses on reliability, safety compliance, and energy optimization through hands-on supervision of technicians and coordination with contractors.

Responsibilities include CMMS management for AHU/FCU, planning work plans, and proactive fault analysis to ensure continuous service delivery and system

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with chilled water systems in commercial, industrial or utility environments.
• Able to troubleshoot HVAC and ACMV system faults independently.
• Strong safety mindset and proactive approach to problem solving.

• Attend to operational faults, alarms, and system abnormalities; conduct root cause analysis when required.
• Ensure system availability, reliability, energy efficiency and service delivery targets are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a group of technicians and manage contractors in the execution of maintenance activities to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety requirements.
• Manage and support the day-to-day operation of large-scale chilled water plants and HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and energy optimization. Prior experience in District Cooling System (DCS) operations is preferred.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute using CMMS for AHU, FCU and associated chilled water system.
• Develop and implement work plans, including purchase requisitions, selection/evaluation of contractors, as well as maintenance activities scheduling and costing.
• Perform frontline troubleshooting of airside systems, including: Air Handling Units(AHU) / Fan Coil Units (FCU). Associated chilled water control valves, actuators, sensors, pumps, VSDs etc
• Attend to operational faults, customer complaints, alarms, and system abnormalities, and carry out root cause analysis where required.
• Ensure system availability, reliability, energy efficiency and service delivery targets are achieved.
• Arrange, supervise, and follow up on corrective maintenance and breakdown works.
• Liaise and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs to ensure maintenance and repair works are carried out safely and effectively.
• Act as frontline technical support to customers, attending site meetings and address operational and air conditioning related issues.
• Review vendor service and maintenance reports and elevate any recurring or critical issues.
• Support implementation of energy efficient operating practices during daily operations.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company safety procedures and requirement.
• Prepare monthly operational reporting, efficiency reports and documentation as required
  

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in O&M oflarge scaled chilled water plants.
• Hands on experience with Chilled water systems incommercial, industrial, or utility environments.
• Good practical knowledge of chilled waterdistribution to airside systems.
• Able to troubleshoot HVAC and ACMV system faultsindependently.
• Comfortable working frontline with customers andsite stakeholder.
