Job summary

MAKINO ASIA PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components throughout the product lifecycle.

You will create detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, perform design calculations, and ensure manufacturability with DFM/DFA principles while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Typically 6-10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerancing.
• Proven track record in product design and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical components and systems.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
• Perform design calculations, simulations, and tolerance analysis.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage design projects from concept through production and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Review and approve designs and changes, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement.
