Job summary

Misumi South East Asia Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Mechanical Applications Engineer to provide advanced design support, perform calculations and select components for factory automation projects. You will review drawings, size components and troubleshoot issues while coordinating with global teams.

The role requires SolidWorks/AutoCAD proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to mentor junior engineers. Singapore-based on-site position with opportunities for technical growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering with hands-on design exposure.
• Experience with mechanical design and load/size calculations.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review customer machine and assembly drawings, operating conditions and technical requirements.
• Perform load, speed, torque, service-life and safety-factor calculations.
• Select and size linear guides, ball screws, actuators, motors, cylinders, couplings, bearings, timing belts and positioning mechanisms.
• Assess feasibility, compatibility, application risk and component integration.
• Propose suitable alternative products or design approaches.
• Attend customer visits and coordinate with suppliers or overseas technical teams to resolve enquiries.
• Develop technical references and training materials.
