Job summary

Pixel Automation Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a design engineer to translate customer requirements into feasible machine concepts using simulations and modelling.

You will develop design specifications, create 3D models and drawings, and drive design reviews with internal teams and customers.

This role supports manufacturing, cost, quality and safety, and includes mentoring junior engineers while aligning with project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and design to meet project goals and company standards through simulations and modelling.
• Create design specification sheets with relevant project information and update as required for distribution.
• Carry out detailed cycle-time studies for modules to select optimal machine design; develop 3D models with optimised aspects for manufacturing, cost, quality and safety.
• Initiate and carry out internal design reviews to share and explain modules with other departments.
• Initiate and carry out design reviews with customers on project schedules; review designs and documents from internal and external reviews.
• Create and update flow charts for modules or the entire machine; produce part drawings and assembly drawings for approval.
• Create BOMs for modules based on design schedules; prepare drawing release files and request quotations.
• Send out standard part lists for quotations based on BOM; receive quotations and compare prices.
• Raise purchase requests and secure department approvals for procurement and negotiations; support design issues during fabrication/assembly.
• Make necessary design modifications, update drawings and obtain approvals; release revised drawings to suppliers and internal teams.
• Support machine assembly team during setup and fine tuning of machines; adhere to project schedules and quality standards.
