Job summary

Oriental Motor is seeking a Senior Manager, Research and Development to drive the development and commercialization of motion control solutions for automation and robotics across Asia-Pacific. You will work with customers, distributors, and Japan headquarters to identify market opportunities and develop customer-centric applications.

The role requires deep technical knowledge of AC/brushless/stepper/servomotors and related automation products, with strong communication in Japanese for

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in motion control, automation, business development or product planning.
• Strong knowledge of motion control technologies and related automation solutions.
• Experience in developing, supporting or commercializing application solutions involving motion control.
• Experience in technical support, application development, or market development in automation is advantageous.
• Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1 or equivalent) is required for coordination with Japan.
• Market analysis, strategic planning or digital marketing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of application solutions for automation and robotics using motion control products.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend product applications and system solutions.
• Provide technical consultation and application support to customers, distributors and internal teams.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and identify industry trends.
• Collaborate with sales to support engagements, presentations and product demos.
• Support commercialization and market adoption of new solutions across Asia-Pacific region.
• Develop and deliver technical/product training for sales, distributors and partners.
• Coordinate with headquarters in Japan on long-term business plans and market development.
