Job summary

Standard Chartered Singapore is seeking an experienced Java professional to build scalable components for the SABRE Market Risk Platform. You will work in a global, agile team delivering robust services and APIs for Financial Markets, with a focus on performance, reliability, and timely delivery.

The role requires leadership in design, ownership of critical components, and collaboration across business analysts, project managers, and other engineers. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands on development with investment banking IT experience.
• Strong Java development experience in a performance-focused concurrent environment.
• Backend service development including service design and API implementation.
• Experience with relational databases and time-series data patterns.
• Hands-on with HTTP/HTTPS, RESTful APIs and WebSocket.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Java components to internal business users with the Development/Project Manager.
• Demonstrate architectural and design rigor with robust, tested code.
• Write well-documented, scalable solutions following bank standards.
• Act as a self-starter driving requirements and development.
• Coordinate with technology teams and maintain system documentation.
• Provide second-line support during production incidents.
