Job summary

ASEAN Cableship Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Senior HR Executive/Assistant HR Manager to lead people capability, partnerships, ESG, and policy & event planning. You will collaborate with Directors of Departments to identify capability gaps and drive competency development across vessel and office teams.

Responsibilities include managing learning initiatives, coordinating partnerships with educational bodies, supporting ESG reporting, and organising annual HR events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management / Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications especially advanced in Excel (VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint.
  • A team player with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to handle any issue that arises effectively.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Good communication and engagement skills.

With years of experience in the submarine cable repair and maintenance operations stretching from Djibouti to Guam and from Taiwan to Australia, ACPL has built a strong database of repair records over the past years and is proud to be one of the leading companies in the repair and maintenance of submarine cables in the Asia Pacific region.

ACPL aims to be at the forefront of the rapidly developing field of submarine cable system repair and installation to better serve customers’ needs and requirements in a professional manner to foster a sustainable future.

Senior HR Executive/Assistant HR Manager

Responsible for:

a. People Capability

- Collaborate with Directors of Departments (DODs) to identify capability and skills gaps across both office and vessel personnel.

- Monitor and maintain structured competency development plans for critical and mission-critical technical roles to support talent continuity, succession planning, and risk mitigation.

- Curate mandatory courses for our online learning platform and seek relevant training providers, institutions and programmes for continuous staff development.

- Partner with DODs to align learning initiatives with operational needs and to anticipate future skills needed based on ACPL’s business strategy and market trends.

b. Strategic Partnerships

- Support and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, professional bodies and industry partners and associations.

- Coordinate and implement collaborative initiatives that contribute to talent pipeline development, capability building and employer branding such as leadership talks, joint programmes, internships, etc.

- Represent ACPL at external HR, recruitment, or industry engagements as assigned, supporting employer branding and organizational visibility where required.

c. ESG

- Serve as a member and/or secretariat support to the ESG Committee, representing HR and people-related perspectives and supporting cross-functional ESG initiatives.

- Support the ESG Committee in cascading ESG principles across the organisation by working with HODs and internal stakeholders to embed ESG considerations into employee lifecycle processes, leadership communications, and engagement activities.

- Coordinate and provide inputs to ESG reporting, including people, training, capability development, and employee engagement metrics, in support of regulatory and sustainability reporting requirements.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate ESG considerations into learning, development, awareness, and engagement initiatives, aligned with ESG Committee priorities.

- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of internal ESG campaigns, communications, and initiatives that promote responsible, ethical, and sustainable practices across ACPL.

- Support internal campaigns or initiatives that promote responsible, ethical and sustainable practices.

d. Policy & Event Planning

- Review and edit HR policies and recommend changes to procedures in accordance with Employment Act and Government Regulations.

- Organise annual event activity from planning, budgeting, vendor coordination, logistics management, on-site execution to post event review.

- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Requirements:
