Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a Senior/Lead Software Engineer to work on technically challenging, product-like projects across frontend and backend, tackling important public sector problems such as CRM systems.

You will partner with Product Managers and Designers to shape roadmaps, ensure reliability, security and long-term system quality, and help recruit engineers for the product team.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern full-stack web technologies including Next.js, React.js, CSS, JavaScript and Node.js.
• Stay close to technical details through architecture reviews, design docs, code reviews, or hands-on support when needed.
• Bring clarity to prioritisation, planning and focus in a complex environment.
• Understand how software systems scale and guide improvements across architecture, testing, observability, or infrastructure.
• Believe in shared success and collaborate openly across functions and agencies.
• Take ownership of outcomes with high standards of quality, security and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of front-end and back-end modules for public sector products.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape squads' technical and delivery goals.
• Design architectures that meet reliability, resilience, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Balance new features with technical debt reduction and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers, provide feedback, and guide performance and growth.
• Recruit engineers for the product team as needed.
• Ensure the team ships high-quality software predictably and improves over time.
• Monitor delivery health, reliability, and root causes of issues.
