Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a dynamic Software Engineer to deliver high-quality code and drive technical excellence for public sector projects. You will work across product development, system integration, and architecture design with product managers, engineering managers, and UX designers.

You will translate business requirements into technical roadmaps, build prototypes, deploy to cloud, and maintain highly reliable systems while embracing governance, security, and scalable practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on DevOps software engineering experience using Agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Experience with government cloud and SG tech stack
• Strong knowledge of Java/C# .Net, RESTful APIs, ETL/AWS Glue, data migration and databases
• Experience with modern full-stack technologies and SaaS/Bespoke/COTS solutions
• Proven track record of large-scale, high-availability public sector systems
• Knowledge of data protection regulations and privacy in public sector
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability software systems
• Understanding of governance, security, and platform practices
• Passion for engineering excellence and public service
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Write production quality code and deliver new features
• Design architecture and manage deployments to cloud infrastructure
• Maintain systems for reliability and performance
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers and UX designers
• Guide engineering decisions with metrics and feedback
• Support architecture reviews and tech debt reduction
• Improve developer experience and tooling
• Partner with stakeholders to align roadmaps and delivery
