Senior Freight Operations Lead (Air & Sea)

Job summary

SATSACO GROUP in Singapore is seeking an experienced freight forwarding professional with hands-on expertise in air and sea freight to lead daily operations.

This senior role covers shipment coordination, customer management, documentation, permits, DG cargo and billing, with clear progression toward supervisory responsibilities and mentoring junior staff. You will work closely with the Freight Manager and take increasing responsibility for daily operations and team coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant freight forwarding experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in BOTH air and sea freight.
• Good knowledge of freight documentation, customs procedures and shipment processes.
• Hands-on experience with TradeNet permit applications / declarations is a strong advantage.
• DG certification and practical experience handling DG shipments is a strong advantage.
• Experience with freight billing, invoicing and charge verification.
• Strong customer service, communication and coordination skills.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of operational matters.
• Experience guiding or mentoring junior staff is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts and provide timely shipment and operational updates.
• Handle end-to-end air and sea freight operations, including bookings, tracking and delivery coordination.
• Coordinate with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, vendors and internal teams.
• Prepare and verify MAWB, HAWB, Bill of Lading, DG and customs-related documentation.
• Handle TradeNet permit applications and declarations where required.
• Coordinate DG cargo and ensure proper documentation and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve shipment and operational issues.
• Support freight billing, invoicing and verification of shipment-related charges.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
• Assist the Freight Manager with daily operations and process improvements.
• Guide junior team members and support team coordination.
