About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on HR professional to take ownership of Talent Acquisition as the primary focus throughout this 12-month contract with possible chances of converting into a permanent headcount (subjecting to satisfactory performance), while supporting HR Operations, payroll, Learning & Development and employee engagement initiatives.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys working directly with hiring managers, assessing candidates, solving recruitment challenges and seeing assignments through from start to finish.
Beyond executing HR processes, we value individuals who can think critically, exercise sound judgement, ask the right questions and provide practical recommendations. You should be comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek input or elevate matters.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus – 70% for this 12 month)
- Independently manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions, from understanding hiring requirements and developing sourcing approaches through candidate assessment, selection and offer acceptance.
- Engage hiring managers to understand business requirements, clarify candidate expectations and constructively challenge hiring assumptions or selection decisions where appropriate.
- Conduct candidate interviews, probe beyond CV information and assess candidates' actual experience, capabilities and suitability for the role.
- Develop appropriate sourcing approaches for assigned vacancies, evaluate recruitment channels and manage recruitment agencies to improve shortlist quality.
- Provide hiring managers with clear candidate assessments and recommendations, highlighting strengths, concerns and relevant trade‑offs.
- Evaluate salary proposals against internal pay structures, market information and candidate experience, and recommend appropriate offers for approval.
- Personally extend employment offers, manage salary negotiations within approved parameters and address candidate concerns to secure offer acceptance.
- Identify and address recruitment bottlenecks, recommend solutions and follow through with stakeholders to progress assigned vacancies.
HR Operations & Payroll
- Manage assigned employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employee movements, contract renewals and exits.
- Perform hands‑on payroll verification, including reviewing salary adjustments, allowances, deductions and payroll calculations.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and coordinate necessary corrections to ensure accuracy.
Learning & Development
- Coordinate APAC learning programmes, working directly with stakeholders and training providers to ensure timely implementation.
- Maintain training records, monitor mandatory training completion and follow up on outstanding requirements.
- Review training data, identify gaps and recommend follow‑up actions.
Employee Engagement & HR Initiatives
- Support employee engagement surveys, programmes and regional HR initiatives.
- Review employee feedback, identify recurring themes and follow through on agreed actions.
- Contribute to HR process improvement and digitalisation initiatives, including identifying process gaps, recommending improvements and testing proposed solutions.
HR Reporting & Analysis
- Analyse and interpret HR data to identify trends, gaps and areas for improvement, and recommend practical follow‑up actions.
- Regularly prepare and deliver presentations to management and stakeholders, explaining key findings, recommendations and proposed actions, and responding to questions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Preferably 5–8 years of relevant HR experience, with substantial hands‑on experience in end‑to‑end Talent Acquisition.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing recruitment assignments, including sourcing, candidate assessment, hiring manager engagement, salary recommendations and offer negotiations.
- Able to engage hiring managers confidently, ask probing questions and constructively challenge decisions with sound reasoning.
- Practical experience in HR Operations and hands‑on payroll verification.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and recommend practical actions.
- Comfortable preparing and delivering presentations to management and stakeholders as part of regular work responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of Singapore employment practices.
- Exposure to regional HR activities, L&D and employee engagement is advantageous.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
What We Value
We place greater emphasis on demonstrated capabilities and actual experience than job titles or years of service alone.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can share concrete examples of:
- Recruitment assignments they have personally managed, including challenges encountered and outcomes achieved.
- Situations where they have advised or constructively challenged hiring managers.
- Candidate assessments, salary recommendations and offer negotiations they have handled directly.
- Instances where they identified an issue, evaluated options and recommended a practical solution.
- How they have used HR data to identify concerns, explain findings and recommend actions.
This is a hands‑on individual contributor role, not a position focused primarily on administrative support or recruitment coordination. Candidates should have direct experience managing recruitment assignments and be comfortable taking ownership of their work.
The position does not involve direct people management responsibilities.
