Job summary

ssangyong engineering & construction co ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to oversee day-to-day site operations for a major hospital project in Singapore. You will coordinate site activities, manage the site team and subcontractors, and monitor progress against approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.

The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and the ability to read technical documents.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant construction/site management experience.
• Prior hospital or healthcare construction project experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily construction activities and overall site operations for the hospital project.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor works to align with the approved programme and schedule.
• Lead Site Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and site workers.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist works for smooth execution.
• Monitor manpower, materials, and equipment for efficient use.
• Review drawings, method statements, and project submissions for site execution.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, and suppliers.
• Track subcontractor progress and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections for progress, quality, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and Singapore safety regulations.
• Identify delays and risks and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate site and progress meetings, inspections, testing, and handover.
• Maintain daily reports, progress records, and project documentation.
• Assist in monitoring costs, variations, and subcontractor claims.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Promote good housekeeping and safety practices on site.
• Provide updates to Construction Manager and Project Manager.
