Job summary

A marine engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a skilled engineer to perform field service for marine cranes, including troubleshooting and repairs. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' experience with marine deck machinery, in-depth knowledge of PLC systems, and the ability to lead repair projects. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out field service attendances to troubleshoot and repair deck cranes.
  • Supervise a team of mechanics during large repair projects.
  • Write technical reports and communicate with owners' representatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To carry out field service attendances to troubleshoot & repair Deck Cranes, Grabs, Windlasses, Hatch Cover Hydraulics and Davits.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have solid working experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers such as:

  • MacGREGOR
  • IHI
  • MITSUBISHI
  • LIEBHERR
  • TTS MARINE
  • TSUJI
  • HATLAPA
  • PUSNES, NIPPON PUSNES etc.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
  • Min 5 years' experience in inspection, troubleshooting and repairing Marine Cranes, Windlasses & other hydraulic systems.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes & hydraulic machinery.
  • Able to read and comprehend electric and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems.
  • Able to supervise a team of mechanics and carry out large repair projects as Lead Engineer on board, on voyage and in Ship Yards.
  • Able to write technical reports and able to communicate with owners' representatives.
  • Sailing experience as Electrical Officer (E/O) on bulker vessels equipped with deck cranes will be an added advantage.
  • Previous employment as service engineer with one of the leading deck crane manufacturers will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) will be an added advantage.
