Job summary

SWIFT SEARCH GLOBAL PTE. LTD. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services for building and residential projects in Singapore. You will oversee design, coordination, and on-site implementation, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

The role requires familiarity with ACMV/HVAC, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection systems, and strong collaboration with clients and consultants. On-site coordination and authority liaison are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Experience in mechanical building services within Singapore construction/building industry.
• Experience from M&E consultancy, main contractor or specialist contractor environments is welcome.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services such as ACMV/HVAC, plumbing, sanitary and/or fire protection systems.
• Experience in design review, coordination, and construction-stage engineering.
• Familiar with Singapore codes, standards and authority requirements.
• Able to review drawings, technical submissions and engineering documentation independently.
• Strong technical problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and authorities.
• Experience across design, construction, testing and commissioning stages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Attend technical, design, coordination and progress meetings.
• Identify and resolve design, technical and site coordination issues.
• Review contractors' technical proposals, material submissions, method statements and other engineering documentation.
• Monitor mechanical works on site for compliance with drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical and other services.
• Support authority submissions, inspections and approvals where required.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
• Monitor project progress, deliverables and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to project engineers and team members.
• Support project completion, handover documentation and resolution of outstanding matters.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.

• Monitor project progress, engineering deliverables and schedules.

• Provide technical guidance and support to project engineers and other members of the project team.

• Support project completion, handover documentation and resolution of outstanding technical matters.

• Perform other relevant engineering and project duties as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Relevant experience in mechanical building services engineering within the Singapore construction / built environment industry.

• Experience in HDB residential / HDB construction projects is highly advantageous.

• Candidates with experience from M&E consultancy, main contractor or specialist contractor environments are welcome to apply.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in mechanical building services such as ACMV/HVAC, plumbing, sanitary and/or fire protection systems.

• Experience in mechanical design review, technical coordination and construction-stage engineering.
