Job summary

JPS MANPOWER PTE. LTD. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical and building services works for construction projects in Singapore.

You will coordinate engineering, supervise sites, and oversee installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems. Collaborate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient delivery and integration with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience in construction, MEP, building services, or mechanical engineering projects.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM/Revit is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of construction practices, site coordination, and quality control.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willingness to work at construction project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submissions to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works at construction sites to maintain quality standards and adhere to project schedules.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, architectural, and electrical teams to integrate mechanical works seamlessly into overall project execution.
• Monitor site progress and verify that mechanical works conform to approved drawings, project specifications, and safety regulations.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate testing and commissioning activities to validate mechanical system performance and compliance.
• Prepare and review method statements, inspection requests, material submissions, and technical documentation to ensure project compliance.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members to resolve technical and site issues promptly and effectively.
• Monitor quality and progress of mechanical works, identify potential delays or technical problems, and propose practical solutions.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, material requirements, procurement, and project planning to support efficient project execution.
• Review and maintain project documentation, including as-built drawings, testing records, and handover documents for accurate project records.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with Singapore regulations, applicable codes, project specifications, and workplace safety requirements.
• Attend project coordination meetings and provide engineering and technical support to project stakeholders.
• Perform other mechanical engineering and construction-related duties as assigned to support project objectives.
