Job summary

StarHub Ltd. is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own end-to-end delivery lifecycle for cloud-native platforms. You will design, develop, and maintain microservices with Java/Spring Boot, manage OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, and contribute to architecture and data persistence strategies.

Responsibilities include CI/CD automation, on-call incident handling, and security compliance with SAST/DAST. Strong collaboration, documentation, and agile mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Java Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing enterprise applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and best practices.
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for deployment and orchestration; OpenShift features are a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Camel and its core Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs).
• Implement RESTful APIs and ensure services meet performance, security, and stability requirements.
• Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code following best practices and design patterns.
• Develop and manage services deployed on OpenShift/Kubernetes, including Dockerfiles and Kubernetes resource configurations.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot services running in the OpenShift environment.
• Contribute to architectural design of microservices, focusing on loose coupling, high cohesion, fault tolerance.
• Integrate services using messaging systems (e.g., Red Hat AMQ).
• Perform code reviews and ensure security standards, vulnerability scans, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Build technical documentation, runbooks, and API specifications.
• Familiar with agentic SDLC concepts and AI-assisted delivery.
