Job summary

Ambition Singapore seeks an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise applications using Spring Boot and cloud-native practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes modern architectures, microservices, DDD, and strong focus on code quality, test automation with Cucumber/Gherkin, and CI/CD with GitLab and ArgoCD. Prior experience in OpenShift/docker/k8s is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in Java development within enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern JDK versions.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and design patterns.
• Experience with microservices, layered, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and object storage solutions.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Strong problem-solving skills, code review experience, and focus on software quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Modernize and migrate legacy applications to modern architectures.
• Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions.
• Apply object-oriented design principles and software design patterns.
• Develop and maintain BDD test automation using Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and sprint deliveries.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Support CI/CD and GitOps deployment practices using GitLab and ArgoCD.
• Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with business, architecture, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments.
