Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a senior Crewing Coordinator to oversee day-to-day crewing operations for vessels. You will plan rotations to ensure safe-manning levels and coordinate recruitment, screening and deployment of seafarers.

You will verify certificates, medicals and sea-service, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage crew changes, including travel and accommodation. The role requires leadership and maritime knowledge, with a readiness to work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, HR, or related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in marine crewing or ship management.
• Experience supervising or leading a crewing team.
• Experience with tanker vessels, preferably chemical or oil.
• Knowledge of STCW, MLC, flag-state regulations and seafarer certs.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple crew rotations and urgent needs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and crewing systems.
• Willing to work outside regular hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the Crewing Manager with day-to-day crewing activities.
• Plan crew rotations to maintain safe-manning levels.
• Coordinate recruitment, screening, selection and deployment of seafarers.
• Verify certificates, medical records and sea-service history.
• Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, flag-state and company rules.
• Coordinate crew changes including flights, visas and accommodation.
• Prepare employment contracts and joining documents.
• Maintain crewing records and prepare reports.
• Assist with appraisals, promotions and career development.
• Support audits and provide after-hours coverage.
