Job summary

PAND DESIGN PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead the QS department and mentor junior staff.

The role involves preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, quantity take-off, materials sourcing, and estimating costs used in tendering. You will evaluate progress payments and variations, perform cost analyses for various projects, and manage cost aspects of interior design and project management from inception to completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Design & Build or similar environment as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Specialization in Architecture/Interior Design or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying is required.
• Experience in large commercial/corporate office fit-out projects, including MEP, is advantageous.
• Able to manage time, cost and quality challenges and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QS department and guide junior QS staff.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, take-off, sourcing, and cost estimation.
• Conduct quantity take-off and cost estimation.
• Assist Project Director/Manager with contractual issues.
• Evaluate progress payments, variations orders, and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Analyze costs for repair and maintenance projects.
• Manage contractual claims from tender to post-contract.
• Support cost management for interior design and project management from inception to completion.
• Prepare progress claims in a timely manner.

Job description

Key roles and responsibilities

• Be a leader in the QS Dept; guide the junior QS
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities which involves quantity take-off, materials sourcing, measuring and estimating costs used in the tendering process
• Quantity take off and cost estimation
• Assist Project Director/Manager in contractual issues
• Evaluate progress payment and VOs, and cost benefit analysis
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
• Manage resolution of contractual claims of a wide variety of projects from per-tender to post-contract stage
• Assist in handling and managing all cost aspects of interior design and project management from inception to completion
• Prepare progress claims in a timely manner

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience within a Design & Build or similar working environment as a Quantity Surveyor
• Preferably specialized in Architecture/Interior Design or equivalent.
• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying
• Experienced in large commercial/corporate office fit out projects preferred (new build and renovations would be advantageous) including knowledge of MEP.
• Previous experience of delivering projects with an understanding of challengers faced in terms of skill in time, cost and quality control and how to overcome them and exceed expectations
• Knowledge in MS Office including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Power Point
• May required to travel around APAC
