Job summary

Grab is seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer to build and maintain scalable services powering Grab's Transport App. You will own end-to-end delivery from problem definition to production release, collaborating with designers and product managers to deliver reliable experiences.

You will lead code reviews, support on-call operations, establish development standards, and stay current with technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in software engineering with scalable systems.
• Proficient in at least one backend language; strong knowledge of backend infra (databases, caching, NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services that power Grab's Transport App.
• Collaborate with Designers and Product Managers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Own end-to-end software delivery, from problem definition through production release.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback to team members.
• Support on-call operations and drive initiatives to reduce on-call burden for the team.
• Design and implement SDLC agentic workflows to enhance team productivity.
• Establish technical standards for software development in the team.
• Stay current with latest technologies and industry trends to lead innovation within the team.
