Job summary

Grab is seeking a Lead Engineer in the FLIP team to develop the framework powering our backend services. You will identify opportunities to optimize the software development lifecycle, lead technical projects, and shape the next generation of microservices for Grab.

The role requires 7+ years of experience and strong Go expertise, with ownership of backend frameworks, orchestration, and observability. Singapore-based office with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience across teams.
• Proficiency in Go and idiomatic, testable code.
• Hands-on experience with backend microservices; HTTP/gRPC, MySQL and Redis.
• Working knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes), service mesh (Istio).
• Understanding of version control and CI/CD (Git, GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and implement AI-driven tools to reduce engineering workload and boost productivity across Grab teams.
• Develop frameworks and libraries in Go to empower engineers to ship faster.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and roadmaps for microservices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote learning and engineering excellence.
• Champion high code quality through rigorous code reviews.
