Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to advance additive manufacturing activities across design, development and production support. You will translate engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions and help shape build strategies and workflows.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to assess manufacturability, apply DfAM principles and drive validation, trials and performance assessments for complex components.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace or related.
• Senior Engineer typically 3–10 years in related fields; Engineer considered with fewer years.
• Strong fundamentals in design, manufacturing or product development.
• Experience in development, testing or validation activities.
• Able to communicate technical concepts within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and industrialise components enabled by additive manufacturing technologies.
• Assess manufacturability of designs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Apply DfAM principles to improve component performance and efficiency.
• Develop LPBF build strategies, process plans and workflows.
• Evaluate impact of design decisions on manufacturability and quality.
• Collaborate with simulation, design and process-development teams.
• Plan and execute build trials, validation studies and performance assessments.
• Investigate challenges and implement design or process improvements.
• Contribute to design guidelines, best practices and engineering methodologies.
• Support collaborative projects with industrial and research partners.
