Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES in Singapore is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to contribute to AM research and industry projects, focusing on composites, metallic and polymer systems. You will support product and system concepts, simulations, fabrication and testing.

The role covers design, data analysis, NDT, jig/fixture development, procurement, lab operations and HSE compliance, with a emphasis on delivering technical solutions on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD and 2D drawings; GD&T knowledge beneficial.
• Experience in additive manufacturing and composite materials advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer statements into practical product or system concepts.
• Perform FEA/CFD simulation, design evaluation, optimization.
• Operate robotic/CAM-based systems for fabrication and testing.
• Conduct quality assessment, NDT, data analysis for parts and products.
• Support product testing with sensors and data acquisition.
• Design jigs, prepare 2D drawings, document design evolution.
• Coordinate with machining houses and vendors for fabrication.
• Support lab operations, procurement, inventory control.
• Work safely complying with HSE and risk assessments.
