Job summary

GAIN Employment Services Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Science Lab Assistant to support teaching staff, prepare resources for science laboratories, and manage lab materials and records.

You will help keep Science Rooms clean and safety-ready, with stock checks and organized disposal of waste. You should have at least Nitec/Higher Nitec in science, 1 year of relevant experience, and be fluent in English. Qualifications

• Minimum Nitec / Higher Nitec (ITE) in science or related field.
• At least 1 year experience assisting HOD-Science in daily lab operations.
• Experience in supporting science programmes; STEM & Sustainability projects and lab-based lessons.
• Experience creating digital resources such as presentations and videos (PowerPoint).
• Proficient in preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good interpersonal, communication, planning and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and learning support to teachers, e.g., preparing resources for science activities.
• Label and record existing and new science materials and lab resources; maintain loan records.
• Pack and organise resources in Science Rooms; keep rooms clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure lab equipment and materials are in good working condition; conduct stock-takes twice a year.
• Dispose of waste materials properly; ensure safety of students in Science rooms.
• Report incidents and maintain a laboratory incident logbook; check safety equipment.
• Assist in safety briefings and distribution of science materials for competitions and programmes.
