Job summary

GAIN EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Science Lab Assistant to support teachers with laboratory activities, prepare resources, and manage science materials within a school setting.

You will maintain lab resources, support STEM initiatives, and assist with safety briefings and academic programmes, working both independently and as part of a team. Fluency in English and strong organisational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Nitec or Higher Nitec in science or related field.
• At least one year experience assisting HOD-Science.
• Experience supporting science programmes and STEM projects.
• Experience creating digital resources (PowerPoint presentations/videos).
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Good interpersonal, communication, planning and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• First aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and learning support to teachers, e.g., prepare resources for science laboratory activities and enrichment programmes.
• Label and record science teaching materials and lab resources; maintain loan records.
• Pack and organise resources in Science Rooms; keep rooms clean and conducive for lessons.
• Ensure lab equipment and specimens are in good condition; conduct stock-take at least twice a year.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and check safety devices are working.
• Provide administrative/logistical support for science competitions and programmes, survey results, and distribution of materials.
• Assist in safety briefings such as Laboratory Safety and equipment awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school.
