Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a School Science Laboratory Assistant to support teachers with science lab activities and enrichment programmes at primary level. You will prepare resources, maintain lab materials, and ensure a safe, conducive learning environment.

The role requires 1+ year of related experience, strong communication, teamwork and planning skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a school setting in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Minimum Nitec / Higher Nitec (ITE) in Science or related field or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience assisting HOD-Science in daily lab operations and admin duties.
• Experience supporting Science programmes, STEM & Sustainability projects and lab-based lessons in schools.
• Experience creating digital resources (presentations/videos) for Science Experiential Learning.
• Proficient in preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, planning and analytical skills.
• Experience working with primary school students in school settings.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• First aid certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching and learning support, e.g., prep of resources for Science labs and enrichment programmes.
• Label, track, and maintain records of teaching materials and lab resources; manage loan records.
• Pack and organise Science rooms; ensure cleanliness and conducive environment for lessons.
• Maintain lab equipment and stock; conduct biannual stock-takes and record breakages.
• Dispose of waste materials properly and ensure safety in the labs.
• Ensure student safety; report incidents and maintain a lab incident log.
• Ensure first aid equipment and safety devices are functional (eye wash, showers, extinguishers).
• Provide administrative/logistical support for Science competitions, assessments, and distribution of materials.
• Assist with safety briefings and equipment awareness.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the School.
